So what is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a psychological technique using hypnosis and the power of suggestion to access the subconscious mind to bring about positive change.

Think of your mind as an iceberg. The tip of the iceberg, above the surface being your conscious mind- the part of your mind that you're aware of and actively think with. And beneath the surface lies the vast majority of the iceberg - your subconscious mind. It's this part of your mind that is like the powerhouse of your psyche, responsible for about 95% of who you are. It's the storehouse of your habits, emotions, memories, beliefs, behaviours and automatic bodily functions. From the way you tie your shoes, to the way you respond to stress, your subconscious mind is constantly at work, sharing your thoughts, behaviours and actions.

While your conscious mind may be in the driver's seat during your waking hours, it's your subconscious mind that holds the key to lasting change. This is where hypnotherapy comes in. Hypnosis is a natural state of focussed attention. By inducing this state of deep relaxation and heightened suggestibility, hypnotherapy allows us to bypass the critical faculty of the conscious mind and access the subconscious directly. This opens up a powerful gateway for positive suggestions and affirmations to take root and create real, transformative change.

Imagine being in what feels like an incredibly relaxing, deep sleep whilst being in full control and fully aware of what's going on.

Hypnotherapy uses visualisation and suggestion while in a dreamy, peaceful state and we tap into our subconscious mind which is more responsive and open to suggestion. During a hypnotherapy session, you will enter a deeply relaxed state where your conscious mind becomes less active, allowing the hypnotherapist to communicate directly with your subconscious.

Through hypnotherapy, we can tap into this reservoir of inner resources to address underlying issues and create positive changes in your life. But hypnotherapy is not just about changing your behaviours – it's about transforming your mindset.
